Recolour the Reef
OPPO
As part of a major CSR initiative, we harnessed OPPO's smartphone technology to help join the conversation around sustainability - in particular the Great Barrier Reef. We partnered with the Reef Restoration Foundation (RRF) to develop an AR app “Recolour the Reef”. The app brings the reef into the homes of Australians, with an interactive gauge showcasing the different stressors impacting the reef and the effects of coral bleaching.
OPPO donated $1 for each app download to help the restoration of the reef. Meaning, Australians could contribute to the conversation of the reef just by downloading and sharing the app.
We announced the CSR partnership at the launch of OPPO's Find X3 Smartphone Series at the Sydney Aquarium, as well as a limited edition “Gift with Purpose” bundle. For each pre-sale of its Find X3 smartphone, consumers could adopt a piece of coral within the Not For Profit's ocean-based coral-nurseries giving them a chance to own a part of the GBR and contribute to a great cause.The campaign was an international success generating coverage in Australia, as well as Europe and Asia.
